A celebration of the life of Robert Offord

Saturday 12th October

Robert Offord – 1951-2019

Please join the London Gay Men’s Chorus in a celebration of the Life of Robert Offord on Saturday 12 October 2019, 2:00pm to 4:30pm at the American International Church, 79A Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 4TD (next door to Goodge Street Underground Station).

This will be a secular and free event, with readings, tributes and recordings of some of Robert’s favourite songs, as well as a performance by his beloved London Gay Men’s Chorus, of which he was a Founder Member.

This will be a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to meet up over light refreshments, share your memories of Robert and enjoy a small exhibition on his life as a highly regarded artist and on his significant contribution to the LGBT choral movement, in the UK and internationally.

We want to reach out to Robert’s birth family, the wider family of alumni of the LGMC, as well as neighbours, friends and colleagues from every aspect of his life. We would be very pleased if you would pass this information to everyone in your personal networks who may wish to join us in this event.

So that we can have some ideas of numbers attending, please add your name to the guest list by emailing James Johnson, LGMC Chorus Trustee for Wellbeing at events@lgmc.org.uk.

If you have any suggestions for the event, or wish to bring memorabilia of Robert, please contact Martin Brophy or Martin Kaufman. We very much look forward to seeing you at this celebration of a man whose contribution has had such a positive impact on so many lives.

Best regards,

Martin Brophy MBE
