Member Stories

Coming out is everyone’s journey

From the several hundred members of the London Gay Men’s Chorus, many brave men chose to share their personal ‘coming out’ stories around the themes of our concert.

In addition to the shared experience of coming out as gay men, we explored other social taboos that require bravery and support – namely HIV, various aspects of religion and family, and Parkinsons. Here we wanted to share some of these narratives in fuller versions than those broadcast during the ‘Proud’ live shows.

Our interviews were very conducted and captured by Louis Staples and Ralf Rasmussen and edited by Ian Temple.
